Whiting
Also known as Calcium Carbonate, Whiting, is a common source of calcium for glazes and clay bodies. This active flux is used in low and high temperature glazes and clay bodies as flux and filler, plus giving durability and hardness to a glaze. It is a mid bleach whose effect on some colorants is noticeable.
